The Museum of Fine Arts in Boston (MA) hosts a concert presented by New Gallery Concert Series at which pianist Sarah Bob will play a suite from Curtis K. Hughes's "Vestibulations." The event is part of the MFA's Soundbites Series inside the museum at 465 Huntington Ave. Admission is included in the price of museum admission.

The Boston Conservatory Percussion Ensemble performs Antechamber by Curtis K. Hughes, as well as works by Cage and Murphree, in the Boston Conservatory Theater at 31 Hemenway St in Boston, MA. Admission is free.

 

April 4, 2017 - 6:30 PM

Tony Arnold (soprano) and Jacob Greenberg (piano) give the premiere performance of "that thing" By Curtis K. Hughes, as well as music by Lachenmann, Hurst, and more. The concert is at Berklee College of Music, part of the 2017 Words and Music Festival in Berk Recital Hall at 1140 Boylston St in Boston, Massachusetts. Admission is free.

 

February 24, 2017 - 7:30 PM

St. Cloud State University (MN) hosts a concert presented by the New Gallery Concert Series, including a performance of "AVOIDANCE TACTICS #1" (1999) featuring pianist Sarah Bob and percussionist Aaron Trant, with music by David Rakowski, Joanathan Bailey Holland and more. The performance takes place as part of the Creative Art Series at Ruth Gant Recital Hall in the Performing Arts Center at St Cloud State University in Minnesota. Admission is Free.

 

January 14, 2017 - 7:00 PM

New Gallery Concert Series presents the premiere of Suite No. 1 from "Vestibulations" for Solo Piano AND a performance of "AVOIDANCE TACTICS #1" (1999), featuring pianist Sarah Bob and percussionist Aaron Trant, with music by Emily Koh, Lei Liang, art exhibited by Elissa Freud, Kay Hartung and Dana Talbot and more. The performance takes place at the New School of Music in Cambridge, MA. Tickets are $20 for adults, $10 students/seniors, payable in cash at the door. Seating is limited.

Pianist Sophia Subbayya Vastek gives the premiere of "paean to a fly trapped in the vestibule," a piano miniature from the ongoing set "Vestibulations," with works by David Ibbett, Clifton Ingram, Emily Koh and more, as part of the Music for Reality project at the Somerville Armory in Somerville, MA.

Boston Percussion Group performs the world premiere of "Antechamber," a brand new percussion quartet by Curtis K. Hughes, along with works by John Murphree and Beau Kenyon.
